Topic:

Understanding Addition of Integers

Aim:

To visualize positive and negative integers and practice addition.

Materials:

⦁ Grid paper

⦁ Green crayon (for positive integers)

⦁ Red crayon (for negative integers)

Procedure:

    ⦁ Students will colour positive integers green and negative integers red on the grid paper.

    ⦁ Students will count and calculate the sum of the following integer pairs:

                   A.    +4 and -4

                   B.      -8 and +5

                   C.     -7 and -3

        Record the sum of each pair on their worksheet.
