Practical- I Term

Chapter- Playing with numbers

Aim: To find out the H.C.F. Of 9 and 6 experimentally.

Material Required: Construction box, coloured paper, fevicol, a pencil and a pair of scissors.

Procedure: Let the given numbers be 9 and 6.

1. Draw a strip to represent 9cm as shown in fig.1.

2. Draw a strip to represent 6cm as shown in fig.2.

3. Out of the strip of 9cm, cut a strip of length 6cm. A strip of length 3cm remains as shown in fig.3.

4. Out of the strip of 6cm, cut 2 strip of length 3cm each, as shown in fig.4.

5.3 is the H.C.F. of 9 and 6.

Conclusion: The H.C.F. of 9 and 6 is 3.
